Noccalula Falls Reopens March 1, 2021

Noccalula Falls Park in Gadsden will reopen to the public on March 1. The 250-acre park and campground include hiking and biking trails, botanical gardens, an animal habitat, a childrens’ playground, and of course, the 90-foot falls with its Indian Princess Noccalula statue. Noccalula Falls Campground with recreational vehicles and camping sites, hiking trails, wildlife viewing, and more is popular with campers from around the country with its many amenities.

Numerous special events take place at the park, including veterans’ activities, and special events, such as the upcoming Saturday and Sunday, April 10-11, Art on the Rocks event, an extensive art show, and sales. Among the many popular events held at the park are the annual Smoke on the Falls barbecue competition, and the Barbarian Challenge, a 10-K walk and run.

Among the most popular events is the annual World’s Longest Yard Sale, also known as the  127 Yard Sale, at 690-miles in length and wandering through six states: Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, and Michigan, with most of the route along Highway 127. The event will be held August 5-8, 2021.

Meandering through the park is a replica 1863 C.P. Huntington train which carries riders all past the park’s most interesting sights. There are picnic pavilions and much more awaits visitors to Noccalula Falls Park, operated by the City of Gadsden.
